Acoustic underlay provide an added impact noise performance level without the need to replace or lift the existing floor or adding depth to the existing deck that may interfere with existing skirting boards or door heights.
Suitable for providing the additional benefits required to meet performance level targets shown in Approved Document E for both new builds and conversions.
Acoustic underlay can provide better performance for impact noise especially when used between the concrete deck and the floor covering. care needs to be taken that the product provides both performance levels required and is suitable for the floor covering to be used.
Where airborne noise is an issue it is advised to check the manufacturers data as to determine suitability.
Acoustic underlay products are suitable for use on both timber and concrete floor constructions and suitable for use with a wide variety of finished floor coverings (depending on the type and manufacturers recommendations).
